Despite Low Advances, 'Housefull 5' Opens To Record-Breaking Response In Franchise

Despite being not only the biggest film in the franchise but also the most expensive comedy film ever made in India, Housefull 5 unfortunately failed to record strong advance booking.
After the teaser and the first song, it was expected that Housefull 5 may become the biggest opener of not only the franchise but also Akshay Kumar’s career but below average advance booking came as a shock to many in the trade, especially considering the high cost of the film.
However, the trade was still hopeful of Housefull 5 turning things around on release day and scoring a respectable day one.
According to Box Office India, Housefull 5 has indeed opened to a good response in the morning shows in most of the circuits.
While the advance booking was lesser than Raid 2, Housefull 5 is expected to score a bigger opening day than the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer crime thriller.
Raid 2 opened to Rs 19.71 crore and now Housefull 5 is looking to hit Rs 20 crore plus on opening day.
This means, it will be the biggest opener of the franchise beating Rs 16.50 crore of Housefull 4.
As per Sacnilk, Housefull 5A’s morning show occupancy is 13.86 percent. And Housefull 5B’s occupancy is 7.59 percent. This means the total occupancy for Housefull 5 is over 21 percent.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Panday, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
