Do you recall the viral video where Aditya Narayan was seen shouting at an airport staff member, which led to heavy trolling of the singer?

While it's not uncommon to see celebrities losing their cool at paparazzi or the public for invading their privacy, witnessing a star yelling at a foreign customer in an upscale, exotic café is certainly a rare sight.

The video

In a viral video posted by maddythecricketer, you can clearly see and hear Shilpa Shetty and her team allegedly shouting at a customer at an exotic cafe.

The user wrote, “Incident Of Actress Shilpa Shetty and team arguing with a young foreigner girl. Details Of The Incident are as follows- This incident occurred today (9.06.2025) in Hvar Island , Croatia. A foreigner was eating her food and they (Shilpa Shetty and team) were speaking loudly. The foreigner girl asked them to lower their volume however Raj Kundra (Shilpa Shetty’s Husband) replied by saying ‘You Don’t Know Who We Are.’ I could not record that line on the video because it was very sudden. You can clearly hear Shilpa Shetty And Her family standing and Shilpa Shetty and team Saying , ‘Don’t Talk To Us , we don’t want to hear you.’ While , the foreigner girl just wanted to enjoy her food and politely requested to them to speak softly. Please give your comments on this incident. Whether this arrogance from our celebrities on foreign soil is justified or not? Whether these incidents defame Indians and our reputation abroad or not ?”

The reactions

The video is going viral on social media and many fans are outraged by Shilpa’s statements. While many people condemned Shilpa Shetty and her team’s act, a majority of users said that it is embarrassing for India.

One user commented, “Indians do talk very loudly in cafes and kinda ruin the ambience even here in india when i go to restaurants. It is a bad etiquette when you’re in public.”

Another user commented, “It doesn't matter whether you are on foreign soil or Indian ....you have to maintain some decorum...everyone has come to enjoy in that restaurant and is paying the same bill you are and is entitled to the ambience they have paid for.”

One user reacted, “Clearly if you’re at a restaurant people are gonna be there laughing, singing, talking. Everyone’s there to have a good time! If you wanna have your food in silence kindly eat at home alone in your room. Shilpa herself owns Bastian hospitality nobody knows better etiquette & mannerisms than her.”

Another user reacted, “Well personally witnessed many American tourists & Chinese talking loudly too in our Europe visits. But somehow Whites will call out loud Brown voices only. Imperialism has not ended tbh. Not saying that gives us license to be loud. But why the difference?”

Raj Kundra's clarification

Raj Kundra issued a statement regarding the incident and said that it was a clear case of mismanagement by the restaurant.

He said, "I’d like to clarify the situation regarding the video circulating online. I had booked this particular restaurant a year in advance to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed that our table had been given away to another group due to what they claimed was a “double booking” error from the same agent."

Raj added, "As someone who has also run restaurants, I found the handling of the situation deeply frustrating, especially with my elderly parents, mother-in-law and 20 guests left waiting. What was meant to be a special evening turned unnecessarily stressful, and when we raised our concerns, we were abruptly told to stay quiet, which only added to our disappointment."

He concluded by saying, "After a year of planning, the lack of accountability or even basic courtesy from the restaurant management was extremely disheartening. I hope this puts the situation into perspective."

Shilpa Shetty still has not issued any statement regarding the incident.
