'M:I 8' Records Franchise's Biggest Opening Weekend, 'Lilo & Stitch' Causes Box Office Mayhem

Tom Cruise’s final film in the Mission: Impossible franchise titled Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has recorded the biggest opening weekend in the series earning $63 million in three days and around $77 million in the 4-day opening weekend.
Not just the US, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has also recorded the biggest opening weekend for the franchise at the global box office earning $190 million.
Moreover, the total biz of the film including the numbers it achieved from some Asian countries like India and South Korea after its May 17 release now stand at a massive $204 million.
While Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has created a box office record for the franchise, the Tom Cruise starrer faces a tough road ahead because of its massive budget of $400 million.
The film will reportedly have to hit $1 billion just to break-even at the box office.
Even though Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has delivered a series best number, it is the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake that has caused a mayhem at the box office in the US as well as the worldwide box office.
The film made an estimated $183 million creating new records at the Memorial Day weekend taking down the previous best Top Gun: Maverick which made $160.50 million back in 2022.

At the worldwide box office in its 4-day weekend, Lilo & Stitch collected $341 million on a budget of just $100 million.
Together both Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Lilo & Stitch have delivered the biggest Memorial Day opening weekend earning an unprecedented $325 million beating the previous best $306 million set by Fast & Furious 6 and The Hangover 3 in 2013.
